印鑑登録証明書 Seal registration certificate

- Official proof that the seal you press on documents is registered to you.
- Why
- The transport bureau accepts registered-seal impressions only when matched with this certificate.
- Who obtains
- You, at your city or ward office (or a convenience-store kiosk with a My Number card). First register a seal (印鑑登録) if you have none; foreign residents can register a seal in their name as written on the residence card.

- This is the certificate of the seal itself.

- 3 months from issue at filing.

委任状 Power of attorney
- What
- Authorises Yamaguchi Motors to file the transfer registration for you.
- Who completes
- We prepare it with the vehicle details; you press your registered seal where marked.

- Registered seal (実印) required.

自動車保管場所証明書 Parking certificate (車庫証明)
- What
- Police confirmation that you have a legal parking place for this car.
- Who obtains
- You at the police station covering the parking place, or we file for you where our service covers your area.
- Valid
- About one month for registration.

住民票 Certificate of residence
- When
- Only when the user of the car is a different person from the owner, or when the address on other documents differs.
- Who obtains
- The user, at the city office. Ask for the version without My Number.

- 3 months.
Kei car (yellow plate)

- What
- Proof of your name and address for the new registration.
- Who obtains
- You, at the city office or a convenience-store kiosk. Version without My Number. A seal certificate is accepted instead.

申請依頼書 Application request form
- What
- Lets Yamaguchi Motors submit the name change at the Light Motor Vehicle Inspection Organization for you.

- We prepare it; you sign. No registered seal.

自動車保管場所届出 Parking notification
- When
- Only if your parking place is in a designated city. Filed after registration.

Parking documents
保管場所使用権原疎明書面（自認書） Self-declaration of parking rights
- When
- You own the land or garage.
- Who completes
- You. Name, address, signature.
- Seal
- Not required in most prefectures; we tell you if yours asks for one.
保管場所使用承諾証明書 Parking-use consent certificate
- When
- You rent the space or it belongs to your apartment building.
- Who completes
- The owner or management company of the parking place. You ask them; some charge a small issuing fee.
- Alternative
- In some prefectures a copy of the parking contract or receipts with the space number and period is accepted.
所在図・配置図 Location map and layout map
- What
- Map from your home to the parking place, and a drawing of the space with dimensions, entrance and road width.
- Who completes
- We prepare both from the addresses you give us; you check them.
Company buyer
登記事項証明書 Company registry extract
- What
- Proof of the company’s registered name and address.
- Who obtains
- The company, at the Legal Affairs Bureau or online.
- Valid
- 3 months.
印鑑証明書（法人） Company seal certificate
- What
- Certificate of the registered company seal, needed for a registered car; a kei car accepts the registry extract alone.

Financing documents (only if you finance)
The finance provider, not the registration office, asks for these. Typical: identity document, residence card or certificate of residence, proof of income or employment, bank account for repayments. Cash and bank-transfer buyers are never asked for them. Financing page.
