The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
After the Heike clan lost the Genpei War in 1185, survivors fled into the mountains. Yunishigawa in Tochigi is one of the places they are said to have hidden, living quietly and cooking over open hearths.
The village: Heike no Sato is a group of thatched houses that tells the story, with the old hearth cooking and armour of the clan.
The hot spring: The village is a hot spring town in a deep valley. We stop for a foot bath or day bath.
Winter: From late January to February the village holds its Kamakura festival, with snow huts and candles by the river. In that season we time the day to see it at dusk.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
