The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
In Yoro Park in Gifu there is a park unlike any other. The Site of Reversible Destiny was made by the artist Shusaku Arakawa and the poet Madeline Gins. It is a large artwork you walk through, with tilted ground, odd houses and paths that play with your balance. This 2-day private trip from Tokyo takes you there.
Inside the site the ground is never flat. Walls and floors meet at strange angles. A small house has furniture split in two. The idea is to wake up your body and senses. Adults enjoy it as much as children, and it makes great photos.
A short walk uphill through the forest of Yoro Park brings you to Yoro Falls. The waterfall is about 30 metres high, and the area is linked to an old legend about a good son and water that tasted like sake.
Ogaki is a nearby castle town with clean spring water and canals. The poet Basho ended his famous journey here. There is time to walk by the water and see the town.
We stay one night in Ogaki so you can explore at an easy pace.
Your driver-guide meets you in the lobby of your hotel in central Tokyo. The van has room for your luggage, and we stop at expressway rest areas for toilets, snacks and coffee. Times in the plan below are a guide and can shift a little with traffic.

DAY 1 Morning pickup in Tokyo and drive to Ogaki (about 4 hours 30 minutes). Afternoon walk by the canals of Ogaki. Evening free in Ogaki.
DAY 2 Morning at the Site of Reversible Destiny and Yoro Falls in Yoro Park. Afternoon drive back to your Tokyo hotel.

Yes. It is a private tour in our own van, so your driver-guide can skip, extend or add stops where time allows.
Is the price per person?
No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
