The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
Morinji in Tatebayashi, Gunma, is the temple of the Bunbuku Chagama legend, the tale of a tanuki that turned into a tea kettle. The path to the temple is lined with dozens of tanuki statues, each one different.
The Temple. You walk the tanuki path, see the temple halls and the kettle said to be the one from the story.
The Azalea Hill. Tsutsujigaoka Park has thousands of old azalea bushes, some centuries old. In late April and early May the hill turns red and pink. Out of season it is a quiet park by a lake.
The Town. We have lunch in Tatebayashi, known for its udon, and see the old castle grounds.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
