Shima Onsen lies at the end of a narrow valley in northern Gunma. The river here runs a striking blue, and the village has been a place of healing baths for centuries.
THE INN. Sekizenkan's original building dates from 1694 and is one of the oldest wooden hot spring inn buildings in Japan. Its red bridge and wooden halls are the image of the village. Where day bathing is open, we take a bath there.
THE VILLAGE. We walk the old street, the shrine by the river and the Shima blue pools.
On the way back we stop at Lake Shima dam lake, famous for its blue water.

Day bathing times change by season. We will tell you before the tour which bath is open on your date. If no day bath is open on your date, you can take a full refund of your booking, guaranteed.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
