One hour from Tokyo, the Shinkansen crowds rush past a coastline they never see. This fully guided private day takes you there – a samurai castle town, a working fishing port, sea cliffs with sacred rocks, and a hot-spring village, all in one relaxed day.

Your guided day begins at Odawara Castle, the mighty fortress of the Hojo clan that once resisted Japan's greatest warlords. Walk the castle park and climb the keep with your guide, who brings the Sengoku-era battles to life, with views from the top across the town to the sea.

Then comes lunch the way locals do it: at the fishing port. The morning fish market is over by lunchtime, so the harbor is quiet, but the port restaurants serve some of Kanagawa's freshest seafood, landed the same morning – your guide helps you choose and order (non-seafood, vegetarian and halal-friendly alternatives arranged on request).

In the afternoon, walk with your guide along the Manazuru Peninsula, a protected green cape jutting into the Pacific. The coastal path leads to Cape Manazuru and the view of Mitsuishi – three sacred rocks rising from the sea, joined by a shimenawa rope – one of the most beautiful and least-known coastal views near Tokyo.

Next, relax in Yugawara, the hot-spring village loved by Japanese writers for a century: soak your feet in a free public onsen foot bath (not a full bath) while the day's walking melts away. And because this coast is Japan's famous citrus country, finish at a local citrus shop – fresh mandarins in season (autumn to spring) or the area's citrus sweets and juice in summer, which you buy yourself.

Only lunch at the fishing port and any snacks you choose are paid by each guest, and your guide helps you choose.

This is your private tour, so the day is flexible. If you want to skip a stop, stay longer somewhere or add a place nearby, write it in the booking notes or tell your driver-guide on the day and we will adjust the route where time allows.
