The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
Every Tokyo family knows Mother Farm. It is a farm the size of a small town on a hilltop in Chiba, an hour from the city across the Aqualine bridge and tunnel, and it is the easiest, happiest day out you can give children in Japan. It has no train station, which is why foreign families never get there. We drive you.
We collect you at your hotel and cross Tokyo Bay on the Aqualine, stopping on Umihotaru, the island in the middle of the bay where the bridge becomes a tunnel, for the view of the city skyline and, on clear days, Mount Fuji.
At Mother Farm the day runs on a timetable of shows and hands-on time: the sheep parade with 150 sheep coming down the hill, the pig race, sheep-shearing and sheepdog shows, milking a cow, bottle-feeding lambs and holding guinea pigs in the petting corner. There is a small amusement park, a bungee trampoline, a zip line over the valley and a tractor train around the grounds. From January to May you can pick strawberries in the greenhouses; in spring the whole hillside is yellow with rapeseed and in summer there is a petunia slope. Lunch is the farm’s own Genghis Khan lamb barbecue or the restaurant, and the soft-serve ice cream is famous.
Your guide keeps the day moving so you catch the shows that matter to your children, and we cross back over the bay in the late afternoon.
What you pay is what you pay
The price is one fixed amount for your whole group: the private van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide for the day. There are no per-person supplements and no booking fees. Farm entry, any rides or picking, and lunch are paid by each guest on the day.
Good to know
The farm is large and hilly; strollers can be rented at the gate and the tractor train links the two halves. Bring sun hats and water in summer and warm layers in winter.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
