Most JDM touge tours put you in a rented showpiece and drive you past the mountains from the anime. This one is different. Your guide runs a real used-car dealership in Ota City, Gunma, and buys from the Japanese auctions every week. The car you ride in is genuine working inventory, not a display rental.
The day runs from your Tokyo hotel into Gunma, the home ground of Japanese mountain-pass driving. First Mt. Haruna, the real road behind the fictional Akina Pass, then Mt. Akagi, and if traffic and weather allow, Usui Pass and Mt. Myogi. Your guide explains the corners, the elevation and the history, and answers the questions you cannot ask anywhere else: how auction grading works, what makes a car kaido spec, what the trade really thinks. There is a free stop at the SUBARU Visitor Center in Ota, in the town where the cars are built, and a lunch break in Gunma.

These are real public mountain roads, not a closed circuit. Your guide drives throughout and guests do not drive. Winter snow or ice can close a pass, in which case the route is changed and you are told before you leave Tokyo.

How is this tour priced?
Per person: JPY 40,000 each, minimum two people. Two guests is JPY 80,000, three is JPY 120,000, and so on up to six. You choose your group size at checkout and the total is shown before you pay.
What is included in that price?
The car, fuel, expressway tolls, parking and your private guide for the whole day, plus hotel pickup and drop-off. Every stop on the route is free to enter. Your own lunch and anything you choose to buy are separate and you pay for those yourself on the day.
Do we get to drive the car?
No. Your guide drives throughout. These are real public mountain roads with normal traffic, not a closed circuit, and the day is driven within the law and to the conditions.
Are the cars really from a working dealership?
Yes. Your guide runs a used-car dealership in Ota City and buys from the Japanese auctions every week. The car is working inventory, so the exact model varies with what is in stock.
What happens in winter?
Snow or ice can close a pass. If that affects your date we change the route and tell you before you leave Tokyo, at no extra cost.
Can one person book?
Not on this tour. It needs at least two people. If you are travelling alone, contact us and we will suggest an alternative.
What is the cancellation policy?
