The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
Autopolis sits high in the hills of Hita in Oita and is Kyushu's international race circuit. Its up-and-down layout feels like a rollercoaster, and it hosts Super GT and Super Formula. This private 5-day road trip from Tokyo is built around one race day there.
Your race ticket is included. Your guide explains the series, the teams and the cars, and helps you find good viewing spots around the circuit.
Hita is also a lovely old town. You walk Mameda-machi, the old merchant quarter with wooden houses, sake breweries and shops. On the way out you see the Yabakei valley, with its rock cliffs and the old Ao no Domon tunnel.
Kyushu is far from Tokyo, so the trip uses two travel days each way, with nights in Kobe on the way there and back. The tour is run by a Japanese used-car dealer, so your guide knows the cars as well as the roads.
This is a private tour. Only your group. Your group of 1 to 6 people rides in one van with one English-speaking driver-guide, who also speaks Hindi and Urdu. No other guests ever join.
The tour is only sold for confirmed race dates at Autopolis, usually in autumn for Super GT or Super Formula.
If the race is cancelled on your date, you can take a full refund of your booking, guaranteed. If you prefer, we can instead take you to another race day at Autopolis.
Day 1 Pickup in Tokyo and long drive west, night in Kobe

Days 1, 2, 4 and 5 are long drives with many rest stops If the race at Autopolis is closed or cancelled on your date, you can take a full refund of your booking, guaranteed. Can we change the route on the day?
Yes. It is a private tour in our own van, so your driver-guide can skip, extend or add stops where time allows.
Is the price per person?
No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help. If a typhoon or official weather warning stops the trip, we offer a new date or a full refund. For a GetYourGuide booking, the terms shown on that booking apply.
