A private journey, thoughtfully paced
Mazda is one of the most loved Japanese car makers, famous for the rotary engine and the Roadster. On this 4-day private road trip you drive from Tokyo to Mazda's home in Hiroshima.
The Mazda Museum is at Mazda's head office in Fuchu. The guided tour passes a working vehicle assembly line and covers Mazda's history, from three-wheel trucks to rotary sports cars and racing. The tour is free and needs a reservation. There is one English tour a day, on weekdays only. We reserve it for you after booking.
In Kure you visit the Kure Maritime Museum, known as the Yamato Museum, which tells the story of the city's shipbuilding and naval past. Then you go up Irifune-yama for a view over Kure harbour. Your guide keeps this part calm and respectful.
The trip is long, so we break the drive with nights in Himeji and Nagoya. The tour is run by a Japanese used-car dealer, so your guide knows the cars as well as the roads.
This is a private tour. Only your group. Your group of 1 to 6 people rides in one van with one English-speaking driver-guide, who also speaks Hindi and Urdu. No other guests ever join.
The tour runs on weekdays only. The Mazda Museum does not hold tours on weekends or company holidays and is closed 8 to 26 February 2027.
If the Mazda Museum English tour is full, closed or cancelled on your date, you can take a full refund of your booking, guaranteed. If you prefer, we can instead join the Japanese-language Mazda tour on your date with your guide explaining.

Yes. It is a private tour in our own van, so your driver-guide can skip, extend or add stops where time allows.
Is the price per person?
No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help. If a typhoon or official weather warning stops the trip, we offer a new date or a full refund. For a GetYourGuide booking, the terms shown on that booking apply.
