The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
For many car fans this trip is a pilgrimage. In 2 days you see how Toyota builds cars today and how the company began.
Day 1 takes you to Toyota Kaikan in Toyota City. From there the free plant tour takes you inside a Toyota factory to watch cars being assembled. The plant tour needs a reservation and there is one English tour a day. We reserve it for you after booking. Photos are not allowed in the plant.
Day 2 starts at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute. It shows cars from around the world, from early 1900s machines to Japanese classics. Then you visit the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology in Nagoya. It is in the old red-brick building where Toyota began as a loom maker, with working textile machines and car-making displays. Both entry tickets are included. The tour is run by a Japanese used-car dealer, so your guide knows the cars as well as the roads.
This is a private tour. Only your group. Your group of 1 to 6 people rides in one van with one English-speaking driver-guide, who also speaks Hindi and Urdu. No other guests ever join.
The plant is closed on Toyota holidays, including Golden Week, Obon and New Year. Both museums close on Mondays.
If the plant tour is full or cancelled on your date, you can take a full refund of your booking, guaranteed. If you prefer, we can instead visit the Toyota Kaikan exhibition hall and spend more time at the two museums.

Can we change the route on the day?
Yes. It is a private tour in our own van, so your driver-guide can skip, extend or add stops where time allows.
Is the price per person?
No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help. If a typhoon or official weather warning stops the trip, we offer a new date or a full refund. For a GetYourGuide booking, the terms shown on that booking apply.
