The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
The JR Tadami Line runs through the deep river valleys of Okuaizu in Fukushima. Only a few trains pass each day. When one crosses the Daiichi Tadami River Bridge in Mishima, with mist rising from the water below, it makes one of the most loved railway photos in Japan. This 2-day trip is built around catching that moment.
On day 1 your driver-guide picks you up at your hotel in central Tokyo and drives to Aizu, with rest stops. In the afternoon you scout the viewpoints in Mishima and Kaneyama, check the angles and wait for a train in the evening light. Your guide plans each stop around the train timetable, so you are in place before the train arrives.
Day 2 starts before sunrise. On cool autumn mornings, a sea of mist often fills the valley near Aizu-Mishima. You walk up to the Daiichi Tadami River Bridge viewpoint and wait for the first train to cross above the mist. Mist depends on the weather, so it may not appear every day. Later you visit the Kaneyama viewpoint for another train, then enjoy a local lunch in Kaneyama. After lunch you drive back to your Tokyo hotel, arriving in the evening.
The trip runs from September to March. September to November brings mist and autumn colours. December to March brings deep snow, when the red and white scene is just as striking.
This is a private tour. Only your group. One van, 1 to 6 guests, never shared with strangers. Your driver-guide speaks English, and also Hindi and Urdu. If the Tadami Line is suspended on your date, you can receive a full refund, guaranteed. If you prefer, we can instead visit other Okuaizu river viewpoints for landscape photos.

The trip runs from September to March. Mist is common in autumn but never certain Day 2 starts very early, around sunrise. The walk to the bridge viewpoint is short but steep, on a path with steps. Bring good shoes. In winter, boots with grip are needed If the Tadami Line is closed or cancelled on your date, you can receive a full refund, guaranteed. No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
