The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
Hanamiyama means flower mountain. It is a private hill garden in Fukushima City, opened to the public by a flower farming family. In spring the whole hill turns pink, white and yellow with cherry, peach, plum, magnolia and forsythia, with snowy peaks behind. Entry is free, and the family asks for a small donation.
This tour runs in the main bloom time, about mid to late April.
On Day 1 we drive from Tokyo to Fukushima, about 3.5 hours. In the afternoon we walk Hanamiyama on the hill paths, from 30 minutes to 1 hour or more. In peak season private cars cannot park near the hill, so we ride the seasonal shuttle bus. The fare is included. In the evening you stay in Iizaka Onsen, one of the oldest hot spring towns in Tohoku.
On Day 2 we walk Iizaka in the morning. You can see Sabako-yu, an old public bath, and the old merchant house Kyu-Horikiri-tei. Then we stop at a fruit and flower area before driving back to Tokyo.
This is a private tour. Only your group. One van, 1 to 6 people, never shared. Your driver-guide speaks English, and also Hindi and Urdu.
If Hanamiyama is closed or cancelled on your date, you can take a full refund of your booking, guaranteed. If you prefer, we can instead visit the Kakunai cherry trees and other spring flower spots in Fukushima City.

Yes. It is a private tour in our own van, so your driver-guide can skip, extend or add stops where time allows.
Is the price per person?
No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
