AWD/4WD does not replace winter tyres. A Snow Ready class is offered only when the assigned vehicle has the stated drivetrain and winter tyres. Winter season: 15 November – 15 April (route, weather and road conditions may require winter equipment outside these dates).
Routes reviewed by staff
Kusatsu, Minakami, Yuzawa, Nikko, Karuizawa, Nagano, Hakuba, Shiga Kogen, Manza, Naeba, Myoko, Nozawa, Tateshina, Zao and other mountain areas. Tell us your intended winter destinations. Staff may change or refuse an unsafe vehicle/route configuration according to the agreement.
Safe winter driving
- Lower speed, longer following distance, gentle braking and steering.
- Watch for black ice on bridges, shaded corners and early mornings.
- Check weather and road-closure information before mountain passes; chains where required.
- Do not continue when warning lights, overheating or tyre damage occur — stop safely and call us.
