The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
Shiohigari, digging for clams at low tide, is a spring and summer tradition around Tokyo Bay. At Kisarazu in Chiba the sea draws back from wide mudflats and families come out with rakes and nets.
The dig. We drive you across the bay by the Aqualine tunnel and bridge. You get a rake and net and dig for asari clams. What you catch you keep.
The bay. On the way back we stop at Umihotaru, the rest area in the middle of Tokyo Bay.
This is a private tour. Only your group in the vehicle.
The beach opens only on low-tide days from about March to August. We will tell you before the tour the exact tide time for your date. If the beach is closed you may move your date or cancel for a full refund.

Yes. It is a private tour in our own van, so your driver-guide can skip, extend or add stops where time allows.
Is the price per person?
No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
