The experience
A private journey, thoughtfully paced
The round red daruma doll is a Japanese symbol of perseverance. You paint in one eye when you make a wish and the other when it comes true. Most daruma in Japan are made in Takasaki, Gunma.
THE TEMPLE. Shorinzan Darumaji is the home temple of the daruma. Its halls are filled with thousands of dolls brought back by people whose wishes came true.
PAINT YOUR OWN. At a local daruma workshop you paint a daruma yourself, face, colours and wish, and take it home.
THE CITY. We finish with lunch in Takasaki and a stop at the giant white Kannon statue on the hill above the city.

Can we change the route on the day?
Yes. It is a private tour in our own van, so your driver-guide can skip, extend or add stops where time allows.
Is the price per person?
No. The price is for your whole private group of up to 6 people, including the van, fuel, tolls, parking and your driver-guide.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
