Road-day snapshot

Kichijoji is walked from one parking point, arcades first, then the alleys, then the park. Morning departures see the market alleys opening; afternoon departures catch them at their liveliest.

The experience

A private journey, thoughtfully paced

Step into the everyday Tokyo that locals love. Your private guide and van bring you to Kichijoji, a neighbourhood regularly voted one of the most desirable places to live in the city and one most overseas visitors walk right past. Start in the Sunroad and Nakamichi arcades, then duck into Harmonica Yokocho, a maze of tiny lantern-lit alleys built around a post-war market, packed with counter bars, coffee stands and croquette shops.

Then slow down in Inokashira Park: lakeside paths, swan boats and the small Benzaiten shrine on the water. Your guide helps you order like a regular. Every place on the route is free to enter.

Choose with confidence

Is this the right journey for your group?

Excellent fit if

  • Couples and families who want a relaxed, local half-day
  • Food lovers who like counter bars and street snacks
  • Photographers in cherry-blossom or autumn season

Consider another option if

  • You want a landmarks-first itinerary
  • You are looking for a museum-focused day (the Ghibli Museum is nearby but needs its own advance ticket)

Said plainly

Harmonica Yokocho alleys are very narrow and some counters seat only four or five; your guide steers larger groups to spots that fit. The park is at its most beautiful in cherry-blossom and autumn-foliage season and busiest on weekends.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can we add the Ghibli Museum?

It is a short walk from the park, but tickets are date-specific and sell out weeks ahead. If you already hold a ticket, tell us and we plan the day around your entry time.

Is this good for children?

Yes. The park, the swan boats and the croquette stalls are favourites, and there are no trains between stops.

Is anything paid?

No entry fees anywhere. You only spend if you buy snacks, coffee or hire a swan boat.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for an automatic full refund to the original payment method. Within 24 hours, contact us directly so we can help.
